Diet & Behavior During The Winter Season according to Tibetan Medicine: Winter is approaching, and the elements of outer nature begin changing, following the movement of the sun to the south and stars and planets to their places in winter sky. As our body is built of the same five elements, it also transforms in accordance with season changing of the nature. In order to pass through winter time peacefully and meet spring in good spirits it is very useful to follow recommendations of Tibetan medicine, taking into consideration the features of the season.

According to Tibetan culture, winter is divided into upper winter (November - December) and lower winter (January - February). As the sun moves south, the weather becomes very cold, and everything starts to freeze. At this time, the earth element is most prominent.

During the winter, the elements present in outer nature begin to change as they follow the southern movement of the sun, stars and planets, as they find their places in the winter sky. Our bodies are made of the same five elements, and we too transform in accordance with the seasons.

This talk will center on Tibetan medicine recommendations for diet and behavior, so that we can properly care for ourselves throughout the winter season.
