The Samadhi of Completion: A Course with Khyentse Yeshe
Join Khyentse Yeshe for a four day course at Amherst College this October 19th - 23rd, 2011. Course free by donation.
The Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations, and the Department of Religion at Amherst College, in collaboration with the Shang Shung Institute for Tibetan Studies, are happy to announce the workshop The Samadhi of Completion: An Illuminating Journey Through Tibetan Tantra, led by Khyentse Yeshe, moderated by Professor Paola Zamperini, and in collaboration with the Five College Buddhist Studies Program Faculty.
Khyentse Yeshe will focus, over the course of four days, on the illuminations found in the text Samadhi of Completion: Secret Tibetan Yoga Illuminations from the Qing Court in order to explain the basic tenets of Vajrayana Buddhism. Rediscovered in 2005 in the collection of the Library of the Palace Museum in Beijing, this manuscript provides an ideal introduction to the main aspects of Tibetan Tantric (Yogic) practices.
The workshop is part of the Amherst College year-long celebration of Tibetan culture, in conjunction with the exhibition Picturing Enlightenment: Thanka Exhibit in the Mead Art Museum at Amherst College.
