Join Us at the Opening Event for a talk, guided meditation and discussion in Northampton with Lynn Newdome. Time:Friday, November 4th, 2016, 7:30pm - 9:00pm Location: 16 Center Street, 5th Floor, Northampton, MA - (above the Iron Horse) Cost: By Donation About the Event: Open to anyone! On Friday, November 4th, Lynn Newdome, a practitioner and instructor in a range of sitting meditation techniques, will give a public talk and lead participants in a guided meditation, followed by a discussion. This event will take place on from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. at 16 Center Street, 5th Floor, Rm 527, in Northampton, Massachusetts. This one and a half hour event will explore the different phases of meditation practice and how these impact our expanding awareness. Sitting meditation techniques range from one-pointed concentration to vast open presence. This is the kick-off public event for a bi-weekly public series entitled, “Stages of Meditation” to start in February of 2017. About the Stages of Meditation Series: The Stages of Meditation series with Lynn Newdome is an ongoing bi-weekly Monday exploration of meditation for the public. Sitting meditation techniques range from one-pointed concentration to vast open presence. The series itself will start in February 2017, and be held in the Sojourner Truth Room of the Unitarian Society of Northampton and Florence, located at 220 Main Street in Northampton, Massachusetts. She has been exploring the path of meditation for over 40 years, practicing and studying Tibet’s Buddhist traditions. She has completed Meditation Instructors’ training in several meditation techniques. Lynn works professionally as a violinist, teaching from her studio near Northampton and performing with the Chameleon String Quartet.
