The Semdzins are essential practices of the Upadesha series of the Dzogchen teaching. Once the student has received the transmission from the Master, he/she can use methods in order to discover or rediscover their real nature. The Semdzins are ver important because they have this function. Sem means "mind," dzin means "to hold." The meaning of Semdzin, therefore, is to firmly hold the mind and, in particular, to separate the mind from rigpa, experiencing the non-dual state of shine (calm state) and lhagthong (state of presence together with movement). Explanation & practice of the seven fundamental Semdzins found in the Dzogchen tantras.
