Oliver Leick, the newly appointed Director of the Shang Shung Foundation, is an early disciple of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu whom he met in 1977. Oliver is one of the founding members of Shang Shung Austria and the Shang Shung Institute in London. Oliver also runs the Ka-ter Translation Project - a project dedicated to the translation of many important teachings from archaic Tibetan into English, and to the training of highly skilled English translators. The Translators Training Program is now in its 14th year, and will be holding its 15th Translator Training this summer. In the 80s and 90s, upon Rinpoche's request, Oliver started giving introductory talks on Dzogchen in countries such as Poland and the Czech Republic, in anticipation of Rinpoche's arrivals. Since then, he has led 120 seminars and retreats in numerous countries. Oliver has also organized numerous cultural events and public talks throughout Europe. Oliver Leick has been an authorized Yantra Yoga instructor since 2002, and an authorized SMS Base instructor since 2010. In November 2016, he passed his SMS Level 3 exam and is currently following the SMS Level 4 training.
