Dance of Three Vajras
In the Dzogchen Teaching sound and movement are very important because they are the means to integrate oneself into the state of contemplation. The Vajra Dance is principally a practice to harmonize the energy of the
individual. When one has a more profound knowledge of its meaning, the Dance becomes a method for integrating the three existences of body, voice and mind into the knowledge of the state of contemplation. This integration is one of the most important aims for a Dzogchen practitioner.
In the Dance of the Three Vajras the three syllables OM A HUM represent the three dimensions of our existence – Body, Voice and Mind – and their non-duality with the three pure states of the Body, Voice and Mind of all Enlightened beings. It is one of the most important mantras in the Dzogchen teachings.
The Vajra Dance is practiced on a Mandala which represents the correspondence between the internal dimension of the individual and the outer dimension of the world.
To participate, you may have received transmission from Chögyal Namkhai Norbu in person, during a webcast or a World Wide Transmission. If one has not yet received transmission but already has learned the Vajra Dance of the Six Spaces of Samanthabhadra (from an authorized instructor) one may learn the Dance of the Three Vajras.
