Tsegyalgar is located in the forested and hilly "West County" area of Franklin County in western Massachusetts. West County is rural and agricultural, with a long tradition of hospitality to retreatants and others seeking the peace and natural beauty to be found here.
We are lucky for the hospitality of small guest houses, inns, and camping grounds.
Here is a short guide to available accommodations we have located for you. Please contact the hosts directly and make your own reservations and payment plans unless otherwise instructed.
For retreat accommodations at Tsegyalgar East and Khandroling please see section below or click here.
For the least expensive lodging, we recommend the campgrounds you can find in the section called Retreat Centers & Camping. In this section as well you will find moderately priced accommodations that can house many Tsegyalgar retreatants, with shared rooms and bathrooms.
Under Private & Group Housing Options link you will find information about the gar's dormitory in the yellow Schoolhouse in Conway, a Tsegyalgar community member’s offering of inexpensive lodging at 25 Main Street in Conway, Beaver Lodge near Khandroling, and the offerings of some of our dear hilltown neighbors who very kindly welcome guests in their homes during retreats.
Under Inns & Motels you can find a range of options. There are small locally owned motels along the Deerfield River in Shelburne Falls and Charlemont. Each one is listed. There are chain motels at the highway interchanges.
Privacy and some luxury can be found in the various Bed & Breakfasts we have listed for you. Each one is special, and its listing will indicate if pets or smoking are allowed, as well as other details. Prices are based on the expectation of a weekend stay. If your stay will be longer, you may negotiate a price reduction with the host. The Ox and Rabbit in Shelburne Falls is owned by Tsegyalgar community members.
